We purchased 3 of the clued in books for our trip to Europe, and I have to say these books were amazing! They give you just what you need to make the best of your trip. First, they are helpful and easy to read prior to your trip, to help you with planning and prioritizing your sightseeing. But even better, were the useful meal recommendations for places nearby the various sites you were visiting. I downloaded the Clued in Paris, London, and Rome books on to my Kindle app on my phone. Many times on our trip, we were able to quickly look up nearby restaurants, and avoid the tourist trap places. 4 of our top favorite meals on our trip were locations recommended by the Clued In Books!

Better than the famous guidebook for getting to the essentials. You can refer online or to other books for details if you want in-depth information, but this book provides all you need to plan everything from when to go to where to eat, easily the most important part of a trip to Paris.

No unnecessary information just the important sights , recommendations, facts. Very helpful and entertaining. I and getting the London version for sure.

Love this book. It gives you the basic information every traveler needs. I will use this much more than the more well known guidebooks.

As I mentioned in my Venice review I found the Rome guide enormously helpful on a recent trip. Had to also add Venice and Paris so I can start mentally preparing for my next trips.... These books are really fun...the photos are great and the tips are terrific. These authors are your personal guides who really know their stuff!

The Clued in Paris Guide was so helpful to my brother and sister-in-law. They spent 2weeks in Paris and found the advise super helpful. I love the organization and links in the book. I wish I had this book when I traveled to Paris. Another trip is in order. I can't wait to read the next books in the series.

I remember the news stories about the RJR Nabisco LBO back when it was happening but didn't give them much notice at the time. After reading a few Michael Lewis books and becoming interested in all things Wall Street, I decided to read this to finally discover what all those news stories had been about. I wasn't disappointed!This is a really good book. My only issue with it (and it's really my own mental limitations as opposed to any flaw in the book) is that the cast of characters and companies is so large that I had to re-read sections and take time to digest it all. I got overwhelmed at times and wanted to break out a white board to sketch out an overview. It's a great read though and really hard to put down.

This should be mandatory reading for anyone interested in understanding the current financial world. The authors write a gripping account of the outsized personalities and egos of the 1980s LBO boom using their exhaustive list of contacts. The book reads like a movie as the personalities leap out of the page. A lot of today's issues are explored: real business vs the financial world, the possibilities and risks of leverage, captured boards and profligate executives vs activist investors.The authors pass along such perfect lines like, when speaking about RJR's expense account manager, "the only man who can take an unlimited budget and exceed it." I also liked Ross Johnson's summary of Wall Street: "Never play by the rules. Never pay in cash. And never tell the truth."

While not the same story as Enron, the corporate games and minimal concern for employees at RJR Nabisco was equally appalling. If you read about the Savings and Loan crisis you will also see much in common. I was only vaguely aware of this story and was riveted by it. I had trouble putting this book down. It's thorough while still an easy read and you don't need to be a student of economics to understand it). It's also scary because this is but one of very many examples of corporate, institutional, and wall street greed and self involvement that, unfortunately, is way too prevalent.

Wonderful book! I felt the magic of the story when I listened to his music too. Anyone who wants to really appreciate the story, please also listen to his music. It is magical, mystical, fantastic! I have become a fan of Esquivel the moment I listened to his music. The book itself has great illsutrations. By the way, in my grad school, the book got the Honor Title award. I had bought it for my class in Children's Literature where we needed to present it for an award. And it won! Wonderful book. Appreciate the originality of the illustrations as well. PLus, it has many resources on the back to find out more about the musician. For example, I learnt that in Boston, there is in fact an orchestra that was founded only to play his music. What a wonderful tribute to such a great musician. Plus, in 75, 000 Starbucks locations around the world, they play his music. Now I know whose music is played in those stores, something that I always wondered.

I found this book in the local library and had to buy it for my son who is a sound artist in Montreal. How wonderful to find out about another talented Mexican. I always gravitate toward this artist as well because of the Aztec suggestion in the work.

Read this aloud to your students, but first find a piece of Juan Esquivel's music on the Internet (so easy) and play it for them. Give them a chance to get up and move to the amazing sounds he created through his exploration of sonic frontiers. He changed music for a whole generation of people in the 50's and 60's. If you are unfamiliar with his music, check it out and you will immediately recognize the genre of music for which he was a pioneer.Read this aloud to your students, but first find a piece of music for them to dance to AND then let them just look at the photos in the book. Duncan Tonatiuh, one of my favorite illustrators, reveals the depth of the role music played in Esquivel's life from childhood on. Students can begin to grasp this theme in the book by looking carefully at the illustrations and discussing in small groups.Read this aloud to students again (it's so well written that it's worth it) and ask them to listen and generate questions they have. There are a lot of unfamiliar concepts in this book that students might want to research further - player piano, old radio shows that required music, instruments like the "boobam," "stereophonics." This could serve as an anchor text to study the 1950's and 1960's - there are so many cultural references in the book - in the text and the illustrations.Lots of potential for teaching OR just independent or small group reading and exploration. This book is a great addition to a growing genre of biographies about musicians like The Music in George's Head: George Gershwin Creates Rhapsody in Blue (2016) and Trombone Shorty (Andrews, 2015).

A picture book biography of the unconventional musician and composer, Juan Garcia Esquivel who taught himself music in Mexico and eventually made his way to the United States. He pioneered in using stereo sound to create special effects in his music, and also was not afraid to do things differently, whether incorporating unusual instruments or playing familiar songs in new ways.I'd never heard of Esquivel before but it sounds like he was one of the first remix artists. I really like that this picture book introduces a host of unusual instruments along with a somewhat unconventional musician. Wood employed a lot of great onomatopoeia to help create just the right mood for this story in the text too. And though Tonatiuh's artwork usually just strikes me as weird, his ancient Mexican art-inspired people plus the tone of the book work together well in this book to help convey Esquivel's unusual music.

Picture book biographies are becoming more common every year. Even better, they often focus on individuals that are lesser known. I had never heard of Esquivel before picking up this book. The trick with picture book biographies is including enough information to really be a biography, while keeping the book an appropriate length for the book format and age range. This particular biography not only provides a nice amount of information about it's subject, but it also does in text that has a fun musical rhythm of its own, making it a fun read-a-loud. Tonatiuh's illustrations are delightfully colorful and full of life, just like Esquivel's music. This is the sort of book that's perfect for music teachers to read and share with their students, along with the real-life music. Books like this bring their subjects to life in both text and illustration. Which is probably why this book just won a Pure Belpre illustrator award for 2017. The additional resources at the end are great as well (including links to videos of Esquivel's music).

As a parent and teacher, I find the information in the book apropos to both the state of education and the need for parents to see schools as augmenting what their kids learn rather than the other way around. Having read most of his books, Kiyosaki doesn't necessarily present anything new, but he offers the perspective of mentoring and protecting your child that helps both parent and child see the power in financial freedom.

The book seemed excellent ,in real examples of life of the author's life teaches how his parents ,the rich and the poor taught him the value of creating a business of his own ,gives ideas and leaves a sense that we are all capable of performing it, the only thing that we need to invest in learning and if we do will be able to see what many can not do, create businessThanks to Robert Kiyosaki for taking the time to write something for the young

I have read this book more than once and I keep learning each and every time. There is so much inside that helps us, as parents, think and reflect on how to better raise our children's financial intelligence. No magic recipes, as usual in the Rich Dad Poor Dad series, rather a number of suggestions for us to reflect and bring our own conclusions.

I listen to a lot of Financial podcasts during daily walks and they have been talking about this book. After hearing more than one recommendation I decided to get it for my son 13.We have been reading it together and we are both leaving new lessons. I recommend this book.

This is an excellent book for parents and it's fairly short. A better book on this subject is Kiyosaki's later work, "Why A Students Work for C Students (and B Students Work For The Government)." Parents need to begin now to prepare their children for financial freedom. If you rely on the traditional educational system (both public schools and parochial schools), your children will be taught everything they need to know to make them wage slaves to employers for their entire lives.

My eight year old daughter, ten year old son, hubby and I read this book (each separately at our own pace...our 8 year old daughter finished first) on our 2 week vacation in Maui. SO powerful. A new beginning for us as a family to grow our assets and Cashflow! We've been playing the board game Cashflow with our kids for 4 years, and this experience just launched our real life Cashflow game exponentially. Thank you, Robert Kiyosaki & the team of people that make your gifts of financial intelligence tangible for us all.We appreciate you!

Good read. Worth the time it takes to go over it at least a couple times.

Just buy rich dad poor dad and pass it on to your kids. Too much fluff and repetition...plus a lot of marketing for his other products.
