If you are not a Christian there is plenty of good information here & insights that I'm sure will help you.. but the author is a Christian pastor & social worker and does not hide or disguise that.This book is well written and in a very readable pleasant style. It deals with traumas and hurts from one's past of all sizes with clarity, kindness & compassion at the same time giving you step by step tools & suggestions so that the individual who is desiring deliverance can get it with God's help. This book presents an excellent balance of scripture & anecdote. It does not "over spiritualize" or go off on weird tangents in a way that some books on "Christian emotional" healing do. Everything the author discusses is backed up by scripture. The book has exercises all the way through so the reader can progress as his/her own pace.Regardless of your past/present emotional issues this book has answers for you. I would recommend this book for teens on up.. it doesn't matter your age or sex or life circumstance.. many people have wounds, or behavior that stymies them.If you have a behavior pattern that seems "hopeless" or "unchangeable" it is possible there is an emotional root-- this book will with great tenderness yet firmness help you find if this is the case for you.This book can help you with God find answers, change & ultimately deliverance & healing. I recommend it to pastors & lay people alike.This book is well worth it's price. This will be a book I read-- and re-read. Thank you F. Remy Diederich.

This is a book that works as a guide and tells us how to heal the suffering from past actions. It shows us a list of things that we should make rearranges in our way of thinking in order to change the things that hurts us inside.¨there is no one response to the pain of shame. Every person handles it in a different way.¨page 13.The author expresses six typical reactions to the pain. Denial, suppression, cover up, medication, suffering and suicide.¨men tend to deny their shame more than women to. I thin it is harder for men to admit that they hurt emotionally.¨ page. 13

This book is so rich in truth, so easy to understand and really hard to swallow at times (in the best "nailed between the eyes" way possible). I am re-reading just my highlighted parts in my Kindle like summary notes and it's still so intense. I'll be chewing on this one for a while. 5 stars all the way!

About the Author

Allan D. Pierce was born in 1936 and spent his early years in Iowa, Kansas, and New Mexico. After receiving a Ph.D. in Physics from MIT, he was employed by RAND (1961-1963) and Avco (1963-1966). His work during these years was concerned primarily with the analysis of infrasonic waveforms generated by thermonuclear explosions, and this broadened into a life-long interest in all aspects of physical acoustics, applied mechanics, vibrations, and wave physics. From 1966 to 2012 he held a succession of professorial appointments â€• at MIT (1966-1973), Georgia Tech (1973-1988), Penn State (1988-1993), and Boston University (1993-2012). He retired from BU in 2012, and founded the Cape Cod Institute for Science and Engineering in 2017. He is a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America and of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and is a recipient of the ASA Silver Medal in Physical Acoustics and the ASA Gold Medal, the ASME Per Bruel Gold Medal, the Rossing Prize for Acoustics Education, and the Gold Medal of the Acoustical Foundation of India. Over the years he has had many editorial positions, including being the founding co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Computational Acoustics and the Editor-in-Chief of the Acoustical Society of America. He was the founding editor of Proceedings of Meetings in Acoustics.

The book looked interesting but it was obvious it was written for previous versions of the Raspberry Pi. Since I am new to the RPi, I wanted something that directly addresses the latest model. I returned the book for a refund.
